A sanctuary of slow living and gentle adventure

This retreat is nestled in the lush coconut countryside near Hoi An's ancient Old Town, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site: a five night retreat and an invitation to slow down — to move your body with intention, nourish yourself with incredible food, and experience Vietnam through its textures, flavours, and rhythms.

Daily yoga & movement
Morning practices from sunrise classical yoga and pranayama, yin yoga in the evenings, and a closing candlelight ceremony.

Immersive culture
Basket boats, lantern walks, cooking classes and walking or cycling through rice paddies. Immerse into the rhythms, flavours and soul of one of Vietnam's most beloved villages.

Rest & integration
Intentional spaciousness is built into every day. Extra massages, pool time, beach afternoons, you choose your pace.

What you'll discover

Basket boat journey
One of the most iconic Hoi An experiences — playful, communal, and unlike anything else. Drift through the coconut forest on traditional round boats.

Cooking class & market visit
Visit a bustling local market, gather fresh ingredients, and learn to cook a traditional Vietnamese dish you'll want to recreate at home.

Rice paddy cycling/walking
Pedal or walk through a landscape of impossibly green rice fields, winding past local village life. Feel free to explore local cafes at your leisure.

Lantern walk by the river
Release a lantern onto the Thu Bon River as dusk settles over the ancient town — a moment of absolute magic and opportunity.

Yoga asana, meditation & pranayama daily
From sunrise classical yoga to candlelight yin, each practice is held with care — whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time in a long time, or deepening an existing practice. Complete beginners very welcome.

About Hoi An Ancient Town — The town on your doorstep
A UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the Ancient Town is a tangle of lantern-lit streets, centuries-old merchant houses, family-run tailor shops, and some of the best food in Southeast Asia. It has managed, remarkably, to hold onto its soul.

From the retreat, it's a short bicycle or daily shuttle, close enough to explore at your leisure.

The river runs through the heart of the old town, and at night, when paper lanterns float across the water, it's the kind of beautiful that's hard to describe and impossible to forget.

Meet your teachers

Darci (founder of Australia Yoga Teacher Training) and Evie (founder of Kannon Yoga) began working together in 2020 when Evie joined AYTT as a facilitator.

What brought them together was a shared approach: using yoga not just as a physical practice, but as a way to understand patterns, behaviour, and the way we relate to ourselves and others.

Their work is shaped by both traditional teachings, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and contemporary psychotherapeutic approaches.

Darci is currently in her third year of a Masters degree in Gestalt therapy: a relational, present-focused approach to psychotherapy that explores how patterns form through past experience and continue to shape behaviour, perception, and responses in the present.

Evie works as a Clinical Support Specialist and Supervisor and is also a trained psychotherapist. Her background includes Integrative psychotherapy and Eastern philosophies which inform the way she teaches, with a focus on safety, clarity, and practical application.

Together, they bring a combined approach that is both structured, experiential and trauma informed. Their retreats are designed to help participants  become aware of patterns, how they are formed, how they are maintained, and how they can begin to shift—using tools drawn from yoga, mindfulness, and psychotherapy-informed frameworks.

Their work is less about teaching concepts, and more about creating the conditions for people to observe, understand, and work with their own experience in a way that is grounded and sustainable.
