July

Philosophy Session: Yama - The Ethical Foundations of Relationship

Friday 31st 10-12 QLD time

The Yamas invite us into reflect upon how we meet the world.

In this circle, we explore the five guiding principles of ethical relationship - ahimsa (non-harming), satya (truthfulness), asteya (non-stealing), brahmacharya (right use of energy), and aparigraha (non-grasping).

Rather than moral rules, these are living inquiries into how we relate to others, to ourselves, and to life itself.

Through discussion and reflection, we begin to notice where our actions are aligned with connection - and where they are shaped by fear, habit or protection.

This is a space to gently question: How do I meet the world when I am not on autopilot?

August

Philosophy Session: Niyama - Inner Practices of Alignment

Friday 21st 10 - 12 QLD time

The Niyamas turn our attention inward.

In this circle, we explore the practices of saucha (clarity), santosha (contentment), tapas (disciplined effort), svadhyaya (self-study), and ishvara pranidhana (surrender).

These are not ideas to perfect, but ways of relating to our inner world with more honesty and care. We’ll explore how these principles show up in daily life - in our habits, our self-talk, our capacity to stay with discomfort, and our relationship to growth and letting go.

This circle is an invitation to meet yourself with more precision, kindness and awareness.

Philosophy Session: Sutras 1.1 - 1.16

Friday 11th 10 - 12 QLD time

Explore the essence of yoga, the nature of mind, and the conditions for inner clarity. From “what is yoga, actually?” to the early mapping of mental patterns and practice, these sutras offer a direct entry point into understanding how transformation begins.

We’ll look at concepts such as devotional practice (abhyasa), non-attachment (vairagya), and the fluctuations of mind (vrttis), not as philosophy to study, but as lived experience to observe.

This is where the heart of the practice begins.
